Advanced Safeguarding & Child Protection Course for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) in Schools, Colleges and Training Providers

Course duration: 1 day (6 hours)

This course provides advanced knowledge of safeguarding and child protection for designated safeguarding lead staff (DSLs) in schools, colleges and training providers and will help you to recognise and know what to do if you believe that a child/ adult is at risk of harm or abuse. It is an accredited course. This was previously known as a Level 3/4 course. This course is delivered face to face across the country and also online via video conference using Zoom.

Schools and Early Years Settings

This safeguarding course will help your designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) to understand how to promote the safety of children and support their emotional health and wellbeing in school. It is appropriate for new safeguarding leads as well as experienced ones. It will look at good practice in Early Help support, multi-agency working, how to make effective referrals to other agencies and how to ensure that a child’s voice is heard. It provides practical guidance on developing safeguarding in your school and ensuring you are compliant with the key elements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). It will ensure that your school is OFSTED compliant.

 

Colleges and Post-16 Providers

This safeguarding course will help your designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) to understand how to promote the safety of young people and adults and support their emotional health and wellbeing in college. It is appropriate for new safeguarding leads as well as experienced ones. It will look at good practice in multi-agency working, how to make effective referrals to other agencies and how to ensure that young people and adults get the support they need. It provides practical guidance on developing safeguarding in your college and ensuring you are compliant with the key elements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). It looks at the key principles in safeguarding adults, the provision of the Care Act 2014 and other related legislation.. It will ensure that your college is OFSTED compliant.

Training and Apprenticeship Providers

This safeguarding course will help your designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) to understand how to promote the safety of young people and adults and support their emotional health and wellbeing. It is appropriate for new safeguarding leads as well as experienced ones. It will look at good practice in supporting apprentices, good practice in multi-agency working, how to make effective referrals to other agencies and how to ensure that young people and adults get the support they need. It provides practical guidance on developing safeguarding in your training provision and ensuring you are compliant with the key elements of ‘Work Based Learners and the Prevent Statutory Duty’, Guidance for Training Providers. It will ensure your organisation is OFSTED compliant.
